Why do you need my information and documents?

To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering, federal law requires us to verify the identity of each person who opens an account. That’s why we ask for information that will allow us to identify you, as well as your driver’s license and other identifying documents.

What if I’m opening an account for a minor?

When opening an account for a person who is under 18, you will need to have a certified copy or original of their birth certificate and Social Security card or their state identification card.

What should I do if my information changes?

Please contact us if you want to make any changes to your personal information, such as a name change or a change to your beneficiary. You can reach us online, by visiting a branch or by phone at 904-777-6000, option 9 or 800-445-6289, option 9.

Why do I have to open a savings account when I join?

Credit unions like VyStar are owned by their members. Your initial deposit of $5 into your savings account represents your purchase of a share or ownership in the credit union.
