Jacksonville, Florida — Brian E. Wolfburg, President/CEO of VyStar Credit Union, announced that VyStar has received approval from both the Georgia Department of Banking and Finance (DBF) and the Florida Office of Financial Regulation (FLOFR) to expand its field of membership into six Georgia counties: Brooks, Clinch, Echols, Lanier, Lowndes and Thomas.
Following the expansion, VyStar’s field of membership now extends to 10 counties in Georgia, which also includes Camden, Charlton, Glynn and Ware. VyStar can also serve anyone who lives or works in the 49 contiguous counties from Central to North Florida.
“Like our previous expansions into Central Florida, the Florida Panhandle and Southeast Georgia, this expansion is a significant milestone and will further our mission of bringing credit union services to more people,” Brian Wolfburg says. “We have been pleased with the progress we have made and the connections we have built since we initially expanded into Georgia, and we expect to continue cultivating those relationships and making a difference in those communities and beyond.”
VyStar’s latest expansion in Georgia comes soon after the organization announced it had received approval to extend its field of membership to include all active duty and retired military personnel, civilian employees, veterans, retirees and annuitants from all branches of the armed forces, regardless of where they live. Membership will also be available to their immediate family members. Since its founding at Naval Air Station Jacksonville in 1952, VyStar has shared a deep connection with military members, veterans and their families. The credit union remains committed to the needs of its military members as well as everyone who lives or works within its field of membership in Florida and Georgia.
