Mobile Banking Security

Here are some steps to help ensure your safety when using the internet at home:

  • Stay proactive in securing your mobile device. Locking your device with a password is strongly suggested.

  • Never give out your mobile banking credentials, this includes for third party mobile deposits.

  • Log out of the mobile browser or mobile banking app when you’re not using it.

  • Remove sensitive personal information, such as bank account numbers and passwords from your phone.

How to Avoid the Scam

  • Beware of any incoming calls from someone claiming they are a technical support from Microsoft, Windows, Amazon, Google, a computer anti-virus company, etc.

  • Beware of computer pop-up screens that instruct you to call a phone number for technical support. Avoid clicking on any pop-up links.

  • You can always contact a company directly from a trusted phone number, located on their home website.

  • If someone has remoted into your computer, never log into any financial websites or site with personal information. (Online banking, credit cards, etc.)

  • Never purchase gift cards to pay a business, service, or repay a loan.

  • Never mail cash for business or services.

Companies like Microsoft, Amazon and Google will never issue you a refund or an overage and require you to pay back the refund via gift cards, wire or Zelle®.
