REPORTING FRAUD

E-mail and Online Fraud

If you suspect you have provided personal information online in response to a fraudulent email and would like to have an alert placed on your account, immediately call (904) 777-6000, option 9 or 800-445-6289, option 9.

You may also want to forward it to the Federal Trade Commission at: spam@uce.gov. Or, contact them at: www.consumer.gov/idtheft. Or, call 1-877-IDTHEFT.

Identity Theft

If you suspect that someone has gained access to important personal information such as our VyStar account number or your Social Security number and may use that information for illegal purposes or to withdraw money from your account, immediately call (904) 777-6000, option 9 or 800-445-6289, option 9.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) provides a variety of useful information and resources related to identity theft, including an ID Theft Affidavit for disputing accounts opened in your name without your authorization. Visit the FTC ID Theft website at:

Alerting Credit Bureau Agencies

If you suspect you might be a victim of identity theft, contact any of the three major credit bureaus to place a fraud alert on your credit file. In addition, you can order a credit report to identify an unauthorized activity.

Lost or Stolen ATM, Check or Credit Card

To report a lost or stolen ATM Card, call

  • (904) 777-6000, option 2 or (800) 445-6289, option 2
  • In VyStar Internet Banking, select Services to "Cancel ATM Card". Follow the instructions within this screen to cancel your ATM card.

To report a lost or stolen Visa® Check Card, Classic Visa, MasterCard®, or Platinum Rewards Visa, call:

  • (904) 777-6000, option 2 or (800) 445-6289, option 2 during VyStar office hours
  • (800) 654-7728 or (800) 654-7728 for 24-hour Cardholder Services (this number is on the back of your card)

Other Tips To Consider If Your Card Has Been Reported Lost Or Stolen

Notify all of the participating merchants with whom you’ve set-up automatic bill payments (with the card reported as lost or stolen). Once VyStar Credit Union issues you a new card, you’ll need to re-establish automatic bill payments with your new card by contacting participating merchants. Otherwise pre-established payments will not be made and you may potentially incur late fees and/or loss of service with the merchant(s).
