2008 TAX SEASON – Direct Deposit of your Tax Refund

What is the Safest Way to Get a Refund? The IRS can deposit your tax refund directly into your VyStar Checking or Savings Account. Direct deposit is faster and safer than having a check mailed to your home address. Not only is direct deposit faster because there's no check to mail out, it's also faster because the IRS usually sends out direct deposits earlier than they mail out paper checks. Direct Deposit of your refund is a free service. Your tax preparer, the IRS and your credit union do not charge you extra fees for using direct deposit. Make sure you are using the correct Routing and Account Numbers when you fill out the direct deposit section of your tax return. These numbers are just as important as double checking your name, address, and Social Security Number.

Setting up Direct Deposit and e-Services

Setting Up Bill Payment and Other e-Services - Use the Correct Numbers.

When using electronics, numbers are very important. Please be sure to verify your account numbers and routing number when you set up bill payment and other e-services.

A good example of an e-service that you may want to use is, ordering your VyStar checks online from our website. When you click “Check orders”, you will enter a secure website that asks you to submit our Routing / Transit Number along with your account number. Another example is having your tax refund directly deposited into your VyStar account. Or, maybe you would like to pay a utility bill online directly from your checking account. Whatever the case may be, it is very important to use the correct numbers when setting up these types of transactions.

Here are tips on how to set up an electronic transaction:

  • For Checking accounts, use the account number listed on your checks as seen above using the MICR line at the bottom. You can also find your checking account number when you login to Internet Banking—it is listed under “Account Number” on the “Balances” screen next to each Account Name you have. Or, look on your monthly paper statement or e-Statement above the transactions on each account you have.
  • For other Deposit accounts, use the numbers on the “Balances” screen in Internet Banking or on your monthly paper statement or e-Statement. Checking and savings accounts each have their own set of numbers.
  • For Loan accounts, use the “twelve-digit” account number found at the bottom of your payment coupons only. Do not use the number on the Internet Banking, Balances screen.
  • For VyStar’s Routing Number, always use 263079276
